Visa
Before you travel to Thailand, you do not have to worry about a visa if you stay in Thailand for a maximum of 45 days. Upon arrival you will receive a stamp in your passport that allows you to stay in the country for 45 days.
Temple visit
When visiting a temple, it is important to wear appropriate clothing. Make sure your shoulders and knees are covered. For example, bring a sarong so you can tie it around your hips or put it over your shoulders. Furthermore, it is customary to take off your shoes when you actually enter a temple.
Thai
It's useful to learn a few Thai words so you can say 'hello' and 'thank you' to the locals.
Water
You can't drink water from the tap in Thailand, but most hotels have it for free
There are bottles of water in the room. These are replenished every day, so you always have water at your disposal.
7/11
There is a 7/11 supermarket on every corner, which is very convenient if you are looking for a quick snack. For example, you can buy toasted sandwiches here and have them heated up immediately. Please note that they do not sell alcohol between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
SIM card
If you are going to travel around, it is useful to buy a Thai SIM card so that you have access to the internet everywhere. You can buy these SIM cards at the airport, but also at a 7/11.
Transport
Grab is a good option for arranging transportation. 12go.asia is very easy to use for covering longer distances.
Rent a scooter
If you want to rent a scooter, it is necessary to have an international driver's license. You do not have to show this when you rent the scooter, but if you are stopped and you cannot show this, you will receive a fine.
