I really enjoy discovering the world, but there are also plenty of beautiful places in the Netherlands! In this blog we list five places that are worth exploring. Read on for 5x a holiday in the Netherlands.
The Noordwijk
A wonderful place for a few days of sun, sea and beach! Relax at Tulum beach club or Witsand beach club. You can also enjoy a delicious meal or a drink here! For fresh bread for breakfast, go to Oerbakker de Witt. They also have a lot of other goodies here. And would you like some ice cream? Then go to Vivaldi's on the boulevard!
Bruinisse
Zeeland is a popular destination for a holiday in the Netherlands. We stayed at Holiday Park Aquadelta in Bruinisse. Bruinisse is a nice village with plenty of restaurants. If you like fish, be sure to eat at Bru 17. You can also enjoy delicious food at Petit kitchen and bar. There is also plenty to do on the island. For example, you can visit Burgh Haamstede, Brouwershaven and Zierikzee or go on a seal safari! And if you are in Zeeland, you must have tried a Zeeland bolus. Bakery Sonnemans is the perfect place for this. This is a very nice old bakery with a terrace where you can sit.
Veluwe
The Veluwe is beautiful. We stayed at Europarcs de Hooge Veluwe, near one of the entrances to the Hoge Veluwe national park. You can cycle through the park and spot animals. There are plenty of places in the park to relax. Europarcs de Hooge Veluwe is also close to Arnhem, so it is nice to go here for a day. End the day with a delicious hamburger at Iveau burgers and wine bar.
Vaals
Beautiful Limburg should not be missing from this list. We stayed in Bilderberg castle Vaalsbroek. This hotel is located near the Drielandenpunt, so don't miss it! A day in Maastricht is also great fun. You can shop here and relax on one of the many terraces. For a delicious Italian dinner you have to go to Al Mercato. You can also taste very good wine in the Vaals area. We did this at Domain Holset where they make sparkling wines, highly recommended! Furthermore, Brasserie Lodge is a nice place for a drink with a beautiful view. In Vaals itself you can enjoy a delicious meal at Brasserie De Raadskelder.
Terschelling
Terschelling is one of the largest Wadden Islands and definitely worth a visit! We stayed at Recreatiepark de Riesen, a park with beautiful bungalows. You can rent bicycles here and cycling is exactly what you want to do here. Take a tour of the island and visit West Terschelling. You can have a drink and eat here at Grand Cafe restaurant Zeezicht. After climbing the Brandaris lighthouse, you can rest at Paviljoen de Walvis.
On Terschelling you should of course also go to the beach. Visit the Drenkelingenhuisje and relax at Heartbreak Hotel. Midsland is also a nice village where you can enjoy a delicious meal at Pura Vida food bar. And are you craving pancakes? Then go to Pancake House Hans and Gretel. Furthermore, cranberries grow on Terschelling, so if you like that, be sure to go to the Bessenschuur, where you can eat and drink all kinds of things with cranberries or buy something to take with you.
