In the summer of 2016, Iris and Reinier, visited Budapest! Not as a couple then, but because of this beautiful and yet somewhat romantic city, love blossomed quickly. The capital of Hungary has not only beautiful buildings but also a lot of greenery. In this blog: city trip Budapest we give 8 tips!
Hungarian Parliament building
The iconic Hungarian Parliament building immediately catches your eye as you walk around Budapest. Located on the banks of the Danube, this architectural masterpiece is one of the most imposing parliament buildings in the world. The Fisherman’s Bastion
Close to the parliament building is the breathtaking Visserbastion, one of Budapest’s most iconic sights. This neo-Gothic terrace offers panoramic views of the city, with its fairy-tale towers and impressive staircases. Buda Castle and Cable Car
A visit to Budapest is not complete without exploring the historic Buda Castle. This medieval castle, located on Buda Hill, houses some of the city’s most important historical and cultural attractions. You can choose to take the cable car to the top, where you will be rewarded with breathtaking views.
The Chain Bridge
The Chain Bridge, is the elegant bridge that connects the banks of Buda and Pest. This beautiful 19th-century bridge offers not only a great photo opportunity, but also an enchanting walk along the Danube. At night, the Chain Bridge turns into a fairytale place as the bridge is beautifully illuminated.
Shoes on the Danube
A moving tribute to the victims of the Second World War can be found along the Danube. Here are a series of shoes made of iron, which commemorate the Jewish victims who were shot and fell into the water along the Danube during the war. A beautiful tribute, which really made us silent for a moment.
Széchenyi Bathhouse

For a breathtaking view of the city, go to Gellert Hill. With its height of 235 meters, this hill offers a beautiful panorama of Budapest. You can choose to take the cable car to the top or take a relaxing walk through the green surroundings of the hill.
